Kandler Earns All-American Honors

It didn’t take long for powerhouse hitter, Alica Kandler, to make herself known in the Junior College system on both a regional and national level.  Kandler, the freshman out of Muenster, Germany, earned honors as regional and national player of the week as well as First Team All-Conference and First Team All-Region back in November. However, the awards do not stop there. Despite the fact that the Falcons fell short of qualifying for the NJCAA National Tournament, Kandler’s notable season earned her a spot on the NJCAA Second All-American team.

Kandler recorded an impressive 493 kills on the season and an equally impressive 3.94 kills per set.  She led the Falcons with 38 aces and recorded a remarkable 354 digs. Kandler played a major role in the Falcon’s success this year, helping lead the team to an overall record of 25-14 and the programs first FCSAA Regional Tournament appearance.  Daytona State is fortunate to have such a talented player and leader on their roster. Congratulations, Alica, on an outstanding season!
