The Daytona State men's cross country team took to the World's Most Famous Beach on Friday for the Run the Beach Relay.  This was the third year for the event with other Region 8 teams competing, Lake Sumter, State College, Seminole State College, and Florida State College - Jacksonville.   The inclement weather moving in, the men's and women's field were combined and no team scores were recorded.  Teams paired their runners and each pair ran a total of 6 miles.  The winning pair was Daytona State sophomore Christian Ruocco and freshman Jayven Garcia with a time of 29:36.  Finishing just six seconds behind them was Daytona State sophomore Sebastian Hernandez and freshman Jared Falchook with a time of 29:42.  These top four runners had an average of 5:00 or less for each of their three miles ran, and showing the Falcon depth, the next four to six runners averaged 5:20 or better.   The Falcons are back in action September 2nd at the Border Clash, hosted by Valdosta State University.
