Bio
Alison is serving in her 26th year at Daytona State College. She has been a staple in the department of Health, Wellness and Intercollegiate Athletics serving in numerous roles since interning for the Falcons in the Fall of 1998. Alison served as Athletic Specialist from 1999-2004 and then promoted to Aquatics & Athletic Coordinator from 2004-2007. She also spent part of her time as the Assistant Softball Coach from 2000-2005 and as Co-Head Coach during the 2009-2010 season. Growth of the program led to a reorganization of the department in 2007, and Alison was moved into the Athletic Department exclusively as the Coordinator of Academics, Compliance and Reporting. She was promoted to Associate Director of Athletics in 2021.
With an eagerness to learn and grow in athletic administration, Alison began attending the FCSAA’s Council for Athletic Affairs (CAA) meetings early in her career. She was given the opportunity to get involved in CAA leadership in the Fall of 2016, when she was elected to serve as the Mid-FL Conference Chair. In 2018, Alison was elected as the NJCAA Region 8 Women’s Assistant Director as well as the FCSAA Softball Chair, roles in which she continues to serve. As part of her role as Region 8 Women’s Assistant Director, Alison has served on several NJCAA sport committees including DI Softball, DI Women’s Soccer, DI Women’s Volleyball, and Women’s Golf. She is also currently serving on Championship Events, Sports Governance and chairing the Women’s Flag Football Committee.
A native of Daytona Beach, Alison played collegiate softball at Thomas University. She transferred and earned an Associate of Arts degree from Daytona State College and then on to the University of Florida where she graduated with a degree in Exercise and Sport Science. She earned a master’s degree in public administration from the University of Central Florida in 2002. Alison and her husband Kenny have been married for 24 years. They have two children, Ginna (pronounced Jenna), (22) who will graduate from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University this May and Ty (19), who will be attending Elite Lineman Training Academy this Fall.
