Falcon Receives High Honors in First Season at FAU

Former Daytona State baseball player, Cody Mizelle, made his presence known in the baseball world at Florida Atlantic University (FAU) by winning the highly sought after FAU baseball Iron Owl award for 2013-14. The Iron Owl competition was created by the baseball coaches at FAU  to identify the baseball player that is the strongest on the team, both mentally and physically. The competition is made up of 14 different events and tests the athlete's physical strength, knowledge of the game, and academic performance.

Mizelle,  a native of Winter Haven, Fla., was not only a standout athlete, but also a standout student for the Falcons. While at Daytona State Mizelle  recorded a 4.0 overall GPA, earning him high honors upon graduation. His hard work, both on and off the field, helped to gain the attention of FAU head coach, John McCormack, thus leading him to a spot on the Owl roster for the 2013-14 season.
