Daytona State Softball Scores Twins with First 2014 Signees

The Hammett twins were just two of the 21 athletes that signed Letter of Intents at Providence High School on February 5th. These Jacksonville natives joined their family and friends as they inked with Daytona State.

Morgan and Megan Hammett will join the Lady Falcons next season. Playing softball has been the passion of the Hammett twins since they were young children. Now they will have the opportunity to take the first step in realizing their collegiate softball goals, signing with Daytona State College.

On their very first visit to the Daytona State campus they fell in love with the team, campus, and the plentiful opportunities that Daytona State has to offer their student-athletes. The feelings were mutual, as Coach Manhart was equally impressed with the Hammett twin's skills and demeanor on and off the field.

Megan and Morgan's Providence coach, Coach Matchett praised these young ladies and commended each for their athleticism and passion for the game. The twins are looking ahead to next year when they will proudly wear a Falcon jersey.
