Falcons Soar In Second Half Giving Coach Ridder His First Career Win

Daytona Beach, FL- The revamped Daytona State Falcons won in convincing fashion Friday night against Game on Rise Academy. After a sluggish start, which included giving up 6 first half 3's, Daytona State entered half-time leading 47-38.

Coach Ryan Ridder's Falcons ramped up the second half defensive pressure and quickly pushed the game to a 30 point spread and an ultimate 112-79 victory. Game on Rise could not keep pace, as they sent Daytona to the free-throw line 49 times. The Falcons out rebounded their opponent by 15 while shooting 54% from the field for the game.

Sophomores, Rashaun Stimage and Dylan Poston, led the Falcons with 25 points each. Also getting into the action was Tanksley Efianayi with 18, Paris Clayton with 17, and Ayinde Sprewell with 12. William Ransom led all rebounders with 10. Game on Rise was paced by Tim Sada with 28 points.

With the win over Game on Rise, Coach Ryan Ridder records his first collegiate victory. Afterwards Ridder commented on the game, "It's great winning this first game in front of friends and family. The community support we have had so far is overwhelming. We have a long way to go, but there was some glimpses tonight of a bright future."
