Falcons in the Community

As part of our mission to positively impact our community, Daytona State Men’s Basketball team recently hosted two free youth basketball clinics at the Port Orange Recreation Center.

Theses Saturday morning clinics allowed children ages 6-15 an opportunity to learn basketball skills and fundamentals from our coaching staff and players.

Each day included funda¬mental skill development of dribbling, passing, shooting, and defense, followed by contests and games. Peppered throughout, we emphasized the importance of strong character, positive decision making, and success in athletics and life.

Not only was it a success for the campers of Port Orange, but the Daytona State Basketball team thoroughly enjoyed the chance to give back as stated by freshmen forward, Tanksley Efinayi, "It was such a great feeling to give back to the kids and teach them about not just basketball but about growing up."
