Daytona State Softball Rises to 8th in the State
Daytona State Softball is off to an impressive start this season with a current 22-5 overall record. Their exceptional play has earned them positioning in the FCSAA's Top 10, presently slating them in the 8th position, marginally behind Tallahassee.


Daytona State commenced its Mid-Florida Conference play with a pair of wins over Saint Johns River State College and a split series with College of Central Florida last week, giving them an overall 3-1 record in Mid-Florida Conference. They will resume Mid-Florida Conference games with double headers this week against Lake Sumter and Florida State College of Jacksonville.


Paige Curtis has been producing exceptional outings on the rubber for the Falcons. Currently she is ranked 4th in the nation for wins with 11 and 25th for strikeouts with 70 in just her 14 games on the mound.


Offensively, Mackenzie Chandler leads the Falcons with a .411 batting average. Her 37 hits include 5 doubles, a triple, and 10 RBIs. Additionally, she is showing strength on the base pads with 32 stolen bases on the season.
