Lady Falcons Participate in Exposure Tournament

On October 5th, the Lady Falcon Softball team had an opportunity to travel to Kissimmee to compete in a large scale tournament. The Kissimmee Gold Diamond Tournament provides junior college athletes a stage to exhibit their talents and gain exposure for four year programs.

Daytona State competed in 3 games at the Kissimmee Gold Diamond Tournament. They played The Pride, Osceola Overdrive, and the Tiger Sharks. These high school travel team provided solid competition for the Falcons and allowed the players to exhibit their skills to the four year collegiate programs in attendance, including North Florida and Jacksonville University.

The Falcons were led offensively by freshmen, Paige Curtis, while freshmen, Michelle Guzinski, contributed her first collegiate homerun. In addition to Guzinski’s homerun, she commanded the Falcons pitching that day with support from sophomore teammate, Megan Schwietert.
