The Falcon women's cross country team got the season rolling with the fifth annual Beach Relay. Teams paired up their runners and each pair completed four miles on the beach, alternating every mile.  The Falcon pair of sophomore Alison Boyle and freshman newcomer Tiffany Cox took home the gold with a combined time of 26:22.  The Falcons competed against Region 8 rivals Florida Gateway College, Lake Sumter State College, and South Florida State College.  The first three pairs for the Falcons finished in the top five of the race.  "Since this isn't the typical 5k race, it may not be indicative of how we will do against these other teams in a race, but I was excited to see our times for the miles in the sand.  Alison Boyle and Cheyenne Hulsey really put in work this summer and are way ahead of where they were last year at this time.  They had the fastest two mile combined time out of the whold field."  Coach Judy Wilson commented.  The second pair for the Falcons was Hulsey and sophomore Kaitlyn Harding with a combined time of 26:55, and the third pair Brianna Crawford and Maya Horel crossing the line at 28:27.  Next up for the Falcons is the University of Central Florida Invitational this Friday evening at 5:30pm.
