The Falcon women's cross country squad will compete in the Border Clash this Friday, hosted by Valdosta State University. The women's 5k field consists of NCAA Div 1 and 2 teams Jacksonville, Flagler, Tampa, Valdosta State, Lynn, Georgia Southern, and also Albany State, Thomas, Georgia Southwestern, and Edward Waters.  Including Daytona State, the Region 8 teams competing are Florida State College - Jacksonville, Pensacola State College and Florida Gateway College.  The Falcons will be lead by newcomer Shannon Jones and sophomore Harleigh Crist.  Both runners will be focusing on getting into race mode after a summer of training.  Other Falcon runners to watch are freshman Lauren Schaudel, sophomore Kennedy Arterburn, and freshman Alexis Mills.  All three come from very solid high school programs and have big meet experience.  Newcomers Giovanna Meade, Jonna Kirk and Sofia Azzollini will be competing in their first cross country meet.  All three excelled in other sports in high school -- gymnastics, track and field, and soccer.  Race time for the women is 7pm.  The address of the course is Freedom Park, 3795 Guest Rd, Valdosta,GA.  Check out the Live Stream and Live Results.
