Schultz earns Defensive Player of the Week Honors

Daytona Beach, FL- Following two dominate performances in Suncoast Conference play, Freshman middle blocker, Eddie Schultz, earns the well-deserved honor of FCSAA Defensive Player of the Week.

Schultz was a force to be reckoned with at this net during the Falcons 3 set win over Indian River State College and 4 set win over top conference opponent, Florida Southwestern.  In seven sets, she averaged 2.6 blocks and earned a total of 18 blocks over the two matches.  Schultz had 5 blocks against Indian River and an unprecedented 13 blocks against Florida Southwestern.

“I couldn’t think of a more deserving person for this honor! Eddie was a game changer for us this week.  She has been working extremely hard to make her presence known at the net and she certainly accomplished that goal.  Her performance against FSW will likely be talked about for years to come – it was one of the best blocking performances I have ever seen in my coach or playing career.” said Head Coach Laura Booker Anderson on Schultz.

Schultz and the Falcons earned another win on the season against Santa Fe College last night and look to continue their success as they face top conference opponents, Miami Dade, on Thursday (10/13 @6pm) and Polk State on Saturday (10/15 @3pm) both on the road.
