Mendoza clinches FCSAA Setter of the Week Honors

Daytona Beach, FL – After two incredible performances in the Falcons first two conference wins on the year Freshman Setter, Mya Mendoza, was honored as the FCSAA Setter of the Week.

Mendoza, a native of Longwood Florida, is making a name for herself in the Suncoast Conference play.  The 5’8 setter is currently running a 6-2 offense for the Falcons, but despite the shared court time, she put up numbers that got her much deserved region recognition.  In a four-set win against Indian River State College on the road, Mendoza put up 23 assists.  Two days later she racked up an impressive 35 assists in a five-set battle at home against Eastern Florida State College. In addition to her tremendous offensive coordination, she also had a combined 20 digs and 3 aces. 

Mendoza and the Falcons will look to continue their conference play on the road against #1 nationally ranked Florida Southwestern (9/15) and at home against #6 nationally ranked Miami Dade (9/17).
