Carrillo & Warner Receive FCSAA Player of the Week Honors

Daytona Beach, FL – Following a dominating performance over the Labor Day weekend, two Falcons earned themselves FCSAA Player of the Week honors.

Outside Alina Carrillo continues to shine on both sides of the ball as she kicked off her sophomore season with the Falcons.  While her offense usually takes the spotlight, it was Carrillo’s defense that shined bright over the weekend and secured her the honors of Defensive Player of the Week.  Carrillo averaged 3.8 digs per set and acquired 19 digs in 5 sets.  Additionally, Carrillo averaged 2.6 kills and 1.4 service aces per set while recording an impressive .370 hitting percentage over her weekend of play.

Freshman setter, Arianna Warner, has quickly made herself a staple in the Falcon lineup.  The St. Cloud native has taken on a big role as the offensive leader on the court and has done an impressive job leading the 6-2 offense.  Warner averaged 8.0 assists over 4 sets and recorded double digit assists in wins over Spartanburg Methodist (13) and USC-Union (19) which rightfully earned her FCSAA Setter of the Week honors.

The Falcons will look to improve their 4-0 start as they kick off conference play this week, taking on Indian River State College on the road Tuesday (9/6) at 5:30pm and Eastern Florida State College at home on Thursday (9/8) at 6:00pm.
