3rd Ranked Falcons Advance to FCSAA Regional Tournament
Daytona Beach, FL- After a very successful regular season of play, the Falcons finish 13-5 on the season, and 9-5 in league play, landing them a 3rd place position in the Suncoast Conference heading into the FCSAA Region 8 Tournament.
The top 6 teams from the Suncoast Conference earn a bid to the regional tournament. While that may seem like an uncomplicated feat knowing there are 8 teams competing for the 6 spots, the battle to gain entry was far from easy. The Suncoast Conference is certainly one of the toughest conferences in the nation as 5 of the 8 teams are ranked in the NJCAA top 20. While #1 Florida Southwest and #2 Miami Dade were in a comfortable position knowing that they earned their way into the tournament in mid-October, the remaining Suncoast Conference teams were battling it out for the final four slots up to the very end of regular season play. Ultimately, the Falcons relentless fight and dominating performances this season, secured them a well-earned 3rd place position heading into post-season play. The team will face Polk State College at 9am on Friday, November 4th at 9 AM in Melbourne, Florida at Eastern Florida State College in the opening round.
