Falcons Earn AVCA Team Academic Honors

LEXINGTON, Ky. – The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) announced its list for the AVCA Team Academic Award for the 2020-21 academic year on Monday, July 19^th, and the Daytona State Volleyball team was one of the 27 schools from the NJCAA honored. The award, initiated in the 1992-93 academic year, honors volleyball teams that maintain a year-long grade-point average of 3.30 on a 4.0 scale or 4.10 on a 5.0 scale. The Falcons had 4 individuals earn an impressive 4.0 GPA on the year with another 5 earning above a 3.5 and all above a 3.0 GPA.

Additionally, the Falcons outstanding 3.71 accumulative GPA for the year earned the team additional honors on the AVCA Team Academic Honor Roll, for being in the top 20% nationally, and representing the highest scholarly achievement in the sport of volleyball.
