Lady Falcon Volleyball Set Team Academic Personal Best

The Lady Falcons not only recorded an exceptional volleyball season in 2016, but an incredible academic semester as well.  The Lady Falcon Volleyball team recorded an unprecedented program team semester GPA of 3.7.

The Lady Falcons had four athletes that earned a perfect GPA of 4.0.  Additionally, an impressive eight volleyball players earned between a 3.5 and a 3.99 GPA.  Previous to this semester, the best team GPA recorded by the Lady Falcons was a 3.4, the Daytona State Volleyball team destroyed their previous best.

"This group of young ladies is exceptional in all areas," stated Coach Stegall. "They had an amazing season on the court, earning a ranking of 10th in the nation throughout the season.  Off the court, their volunteer work in the Daytona Beach community was exceptional as well.  Finally, demonstrating their relentless commitment to excellence, the Lady Falcons completed the term with a 3.7 team GPA.  I couldn't be more proud of their commitment to personal excellence."

Daytona State will get back underway late January, and they will surely have a new standard of excellence by which to measure their academic success.  The Lady Falcons are excited for their 9 sophomores that are set to graduate in May and appreciate their leadership on the court and in the classroom leading the Falcon Volleyball program to their first 3.7 team GPA.

"I couldn't be more proud of these young ladies and their commitment level to themselves and to the college.  They have proudly represented the standards and core values by which Lady Falcon Volleyball operates on," concluded Coach Stegall on the Falcon's impressive fall season and semester.
