Daytona State Falcons Announces 2017 Commit Ryanne Lewis

The Lady Falcons are excited to announce the addition of 6' outside hitter, Ryanne Lewis.  Lewis is a Daytona Beach, FL native.  She will graduate from Warner Christian High School this spring.

Lewis has experienced a tremendous amount of success and recognizes the impact that Falcon Volleyball can have on her future volleyball development and opportunities beyond Daytona State.

Lewis has been a varsity starter at Warner Christian since her 8th grade season.  This well-rounded athlete has played a multitude of sports outside of volleyball.  Lewis has competed in soccer, flag football, and basketball over the course of her past four years at Warner Christian.  Her athletic dexterity is a testament to Lewis's athleticism.

"Lewis is a great addition to our team," commented Coach Stegall on Lewis's recent commitment to the Falcons.  "She has been on my radar since she attended a DSC Volleyball Clinic 4 years ago.  Her potential is vast and I look forward to working with this great young lady that exhibits exceptional athletic qualities, not to mention, personal qualities that include high character."

In a program that focuses on developing package type players, Daytona State Volleyball focuses on athletes that exude great academic skill, exceptional integrity, and high volleyball skill, Lewis will fit nicely with the Falcon Volleyball mold.

In 2012, Lewis was named Rookie of the Year.  After her rookie season, the awards kept coming Lewis's way.  She has been named Best All-Around Player, 1st Team All-Conference, and Defensive MVP.  This past 2016 season Lewis captured honors for All Tournament Team and Most Outstanding Player.

Coach Stegall and the Lady Falcons are hopeful that Lewis will continue to excel capturing numerous honors for the Falcons as she transitions to collegiate volleyball.

"She has great size and athleticism to mature and develop into an elite outside hitter.  Lewis will be a player that our fans will have an opportunity to see evolve in the coming years as she has the ability to service a multitude of roles both offensively and defensively," noted Coach Stegall.

Lewis will play her final club season in Cocoa before she makes her way into the G. Lemerand Center on the Daytona Beach campus to embark on the next chapter of her volleyball journey which will include playing for the 11th ranked Lady Falcons.
