#4 Women’s Soccer Caps Regular Season with 1-0 Win over #8 Eastern Florida

Daytona Beach, FL- The Daytona State women's soccer team capped off their regular season with a 1-0 win over Eastern Florida on Friday. The Falcons were powered by a second half goal from Arianna Kinsley (Estero, FL).

The Falcons would earn a penalty kick in the second half when Jada Samuels (Tampa, FL) was taken down in the penalty area by the Eastern Florida goalkeeper in the 68th minute of play.

The game would prove to be an exciting one as both teams were held to limited shots on goal (5-4).

Emma Broch Laursen (Randers, Denmark) would earn five saves on the evening and her 10th shutout of the season.

The Falcons finished the regular season 13-1 and 3-1-0 Region 8. The Falcons have made program history with a record thirteen wins and ten shutouts. The Falcons had not beaten Eastern Florida in regular season play since 2017 when they also split the two game series.

Daytona State although being tied with Eastern Florida for regular season champions earned the second seed on goal differential for the tie breaker. The Falcons suffered their first loss of the season on Monday night to Eastern Florida before taking the second game 1-0 on Friday.

Daytona State will travel to Region 8 host, Eastern Florida on October 26th at 6 pm to face Polk State College, the third seed, in the Region 8 Semi-finals. The winner of that game will face Eastern Florida on October 28th for the Region 8 Finals.
