Six Lady Falcons and Head Coach Earn NJCAA Region 8 Postseason Awards

Daytona Beach, FL- Daytona State College had six players and Head Coach, Hope Clark win postseason awards.  Lucia Guemes was named Goalkeeper of the Year and to the Region 8 First Team.  Wakaba Kogure was named Freshman of the Year and to the Region 8 First Team.  Allison Worley, Caroline Boston, Akari Kishida and Alejandra Espinosa were all named to the Region 8 First Team.  Clark was named Coach of the Year for Region 8.

Guemes earned the Goalkeeper of the Year honor for the second straight year and was named NJCAA Goalkeeper of the Week during the 2022 season.  Guemes had a 1.06 GAA and .808 save percentage her sophomore year while posting 8 shutouts for the Falcons. Guemes is currently ranked 16th in the nation for save percentage.  Guemes was recently named to the NJCAA Honorable Mention All-American team.

Kogure recorded a career high 11 goals and 5 assists for a total of 27 points in her freshman campaign. She is currently ranked 47th in the nation for goals scored.

Worley earned NJCAA Player of the Week during the 2022 season.  She posted 12 goals and 1 assist for a total of 25 points in her sophomore campaign for the Falcons.  She is currently ranked 44th in the nation for goals scored. 

Boston earns Region 8 First Team for the second straight season.  She helped lead the Falcons to 8 shutouts and 0.93 goals against average in her sophomore year for the Falcons.

Kishida recorded a career high 27 points, scoring 8 goals and 11 assists in her freshman year.  Kishida had two game winning goals against USC Lancaster and Eastern Florida State College. She is currently ranked 19th in the nation for assists.

Espinosa made her mark on the Falcons in her freshman year with 5 goals and 4 assists for a total of 14 points. 

Clark earns her first Coach of the Year award as the Falcon's Head Coach.  She now owns a 125-106-22 overall coaching record (12-11-2 at Daytona State College).
