No. 18 Falcons Take Down the Atlanteans 13-0 in Final Non-Region Match of the Season

Daytona Beach, FL – The Daytona State College Women's Soccer team finished their non-region play Wednesday evening on Falcon field as they took on Atlantis University.  The Falcons set multiple individual records as they cruised to a 13-0 rout of the Atlanteans.

Freshman, Emma Andersta and Sophomore Ariana Wilson were the story of the contest for the Falcons.  Andersta netted 4 goals and Wilson had 3 goals and 1 assist for 7 points. 

Daytona State found the back of the net four times in the opening 45 minutes, a goal each from Wilson, who scored the opening goal, with an assist from Wakaba Kogure.  Allison Worley found the back of the net as well.  Alexis Harden and Andersta added in first half goals as well. 

The second half saw a total of nine goals scored with many coming from some fresh faces for the Falcons.  Kogure opened the scoring in the 51st minute of play and then quickly followed up less than two minutes later with an assist to Andersta.

Alejandra Espinosa would find the back of the net in the 59th minute.  Andersta would net her third and fourth goals of the match in the 64th and 65th minutes of play.

Freshman, Skyler Comstock, would add some points on the evening as she assisted the ninth, tenth and eleventh goals of the evening.  Her assists went to Andersta and Wilson on her final two goals of the match.

Newcomer, Sydney Spinder, would find the back of the net for the last two goals of the match.  Both were unassisted in the 72nd and 79th minutes of play.

All four Falcon goalkeepers would see time in the goal. Freshman, Isabella Morey, would garner the only save of the match. 

Daytona State outshot the Atlanteans 40-1, thirty of which were on goal.  The Falcons would finish the match with 12 corner kicks. 

The Falcons are back in action on Saturday, October 15th at 7:00pm as they take on the No. 1 Eastern Florida State College at home for a Region 8 matchup.
