No. 15 Falcons Secure Fourth Straight Win with Shutout at Cape Fear

Daytona Beach, FL - The Daytona State College women's soccer team extended its winning streak to four games after downing Cape Fear Community College, 6-0, on the road on Thursday afternoon.

The Falcons (5-0-1) picked up goals from Allison Worley, Wakaba Kogure, Alexis Harden, and Shania Harris while Lucia Guemes made three saves to notch her fifth clean sheet of the season. DSC dominated in chances, outshooting the Sea Devils 29-6 overall and 16-3 in shots on goal.

"Four different goal scorers is great to see," said head coach Hope Clark. "We were dynamic going forward and created lots of chances in the run of play. We had a lot of valuable minutes from our bench today and that will continue to be important as we move forward with the season."

Worley started the scoring off for the Falcons in the 11th minute for a 1-0 lead.  Worley would score again in the 17th minute on a double assist from Jada Samuels and Kogure.

Kogure extended her goal scoring streak to four games, right after she provided an assist to Worley's second goal of the match, in the 19th minute.

Harden tallied her third and fourth career goals as a Falcon in the 55th and again in the 58th minute to extend the lead to 5-0. Harden's second goal of the match came off a free kick from 30 yards out.

Harris added the final goal in the 81st minute on a burner from the top of the box. Sydney Spinder played a ball to Harris at the top of the box that she cut back after beating the Sea Devil defender down the line.

"I thought we were really sharp with our ball movement throughout the match," Clark added." Cape Fear was one of the most dangerous front lines we have played against this season with their speed and movement.  A shutout on the road is always celebrated in our program and will prove to be important as we enter region play in October."

The Falcons will host #7 Monroe College at the DSC Soccer Complex Thursday, with kick off set for 5:00pm.
