No. 13 Daytona State College Women’s Soccer Claims Sixth Win over Pasco-Hernando State College 9-0

Daytona Beach, FL – Allison Worley opened the scoring for the No. 13 NJCAA ranked Falcons on Wednesday night under the lights in the 5th minute of play.  Worley scored her second goal of the evening just over a minute later from a double assist by Akari Kishida and Alejandra Espinosa.  This marked Worley's 11th goal of the season for the Sophomore from Melbourne, FL who now leads the Falcons in goals scored. 

Shania Harris would find the back of the net in the 12th minute after splitting the Bobcat's defensive line for a breakaway finish.  Harris would continue to be impactful throughout the match scoring another goal and recording two assists on the evening for a total of 6 points.

Kishida would score a beautiful set piece from 35 yards out in the 14th minute of play.  The final goal of the first half would come from Freshman, Espinosa on a through ball from Harris. 

The second half would get off to a quick start as Freshman, Wakaba Kogure would score her first goal of the night in the 47th minute followed by another goal in the 50th minute.  Kogure beat three of the Bobcat's defenders to score each time.  This marked Kogure's 10th goal of the season and is co-leading the Falcons in points scored with 23.

Sophomore, Ariana Wilson would finish the scoring for the Falcons in the 80th minute from assist by Harris.  Wilson contributed an assist earlier in the match to Harris for her second assist of the season.

The Falcons outshot the Bobcats 26-4 and 18-2 for shots on goal.  The Falcons also led in corner kicks 7-0.  All four Falcon goalkeepers saw time in the goal Wednesday evening with Sophomore Lucia Guemes playing the entire first half recording two saves.  Freshmen Abby Starkey, Isabella Morey, and Meghan Peak split time in the second half for the team shutout. This marks the Falcons sixth shutout of the season as well.  

The result marked the sixth win for the Falcons (6-0-2) on the season and remain undefeated through their first 8 games. The Falcon's have only conceded 3 goals on the season.

Daytona State College begins Region 8 play Saturday morning when they face No. 20. Polk State College at 11:00am for Homecoming.
