Daytona Beach, FL.- Six members of the Daytona State College women's soccer team were named to the NJCAA Region 8 All-Region team on Thursday.

Forward Hannah Henn (Venice, FL),  midfielders Elena Diaz Trujillo (Madrid, Spain) and Lucia Garcia (Austurias, Spain) along with defender Caroline Boston (Melbourne, FL) and Goalkeeper Lucia Guemes (Ampuero, Spain) were all named to the First Team.  Defender Shania Harris (Portmore, Jamaica) was named to the Honorable Mention All-Region team. 

Lucia Guemes was also named Goalkeeper of the Year for Region 8.  Guemes started 8 games in her Freshman season tallying 708 minutes with 44 saves and a .746 save percentage. 

Henn played in 7 games her Freshman season, scoring 6 goals and 1 assist for a total of 13 points.  Diaz started and played in all 10 games this season, scoring a personal record of 12 goals with 5 assists for a total of 29 points.  Diaz also had two game-winning goals on the season.  Garcia, Boston and Harris where starters every game playing full minutes and helped lead the Falcons to the NJCAA Region 8 Finals. 

The Daytona State Falcons played 5 matches in the 2021 season against Nationally Ranked opponents.  The Falcons scored 34 goals with a 3.40 goals per game average.
