Daytona State Cruises Past Pasco-Hernando State College

Daytona Beach, FL.— The Daytona State College women's soccer team put on a show on Homecoming Day Saturday morning. The Falcons were too much for the Pasco-Hernando Bobcats to handle as the Falcons scored eleven goals in the match. The Falcons had two goals in the first half and exploded in the second half with nine goals.  Isabella Da Silva (Orlando, FL) got the goal scoring going in the first half.  Elena Diaz Trujillo (Madrid, Spain) followed with the second goal and led the team with three goals.  Hannah Henn (Venice, FL) and Morgan Hosier (Fleming Island, FL) each scored two goals on the day.  Ariana Wilson (Cape Coral, FL) scored her third goal of the season with a double assist from Elena Stevenson (Canton, GA) and Diaz.  Shania Harris (Portmore, Jamaica) delivered her first goal of the season and Tilde Sandberg (Sweden) closed the scoring with her first goal of the season.

“It was a great team win today,” commented head coach, Hope Clark.  “We have only had 5 games prior to this, so it was nice to see the all the hard work the ladies have been putting in this season in training come to fruition.”

The Falcons improve to 3-3 on the season and will start the second round of Region 8 play on Saturday at Polk State College at 4 p.m.
