Falcons Remain Unbeaten Entering Region Play

The Falcons hosted their first home contest of the 2016 Fall Season this past Saturday, September 17th against Andrew College. Upon entering the game, Andrew College had been the only team to score on the Falcons out of four games.  The two schools met previously this season in Cuthbert, GA where the Falcons won 6-1.

The match remained a scoreless draw for first 20 minutes of the half.  Both teams struggled to handle the heat as well as the speed of the artificial turf field.  In the 20th minute Michaella Krebser served a cross into the box that Gabbi Paiz was able to head home to give the Falcons the lead. They extended their lead to 3 goals over the next 10 minutes as both Krebser and Shanade Hopcroft found the back of the net.

The final goal of the first half came off of a corner kick.  The ball was served into a dangerous area of the box where Maia Krebser was able to finish a left footed shot for her first goal of the season.  Michaella and Maia become the first sibling pair to score on the same day in program history.

The second half was a back and forth affair until the 75th minute when Heather Nulty was able to extend the Falcon's lead to 5.  Nulty was able to finish a rebound off a shot from Deshae Darrell at the top of the box.  Six minutes later Nulty was fouled dribbling through the box and earned a PK for the Falcons.  Nulty calmly stepped up to the spot and scored the final goal of the game and her sixth on the season.

The Falcons will next face Region 8 opponent Broward Community College on Wednesday, September 21st  in Pembrooke Pines, FL. This game marks the Falcons' first in conference play and Broward's third. Broward enters the Wednesday match 0-2 in the conference, falling to Eastern Florida State 0-1 and Polk State 2-3 in double overtime.
