FALCONS HAVE SOLID OPENING EVENT AT LADY PALADIN INVITATIONAL

September 25, 2022 – Greenville, SC:  The Daytona State College Women’s Golf Team started their fall season with solid performances out of all of their players at the Lady Paladin Invitational hosted by Furman University in Greenville, SC.  With team scores of 310-297-295 (902), the Lady Falcons finished 13th out of 18 top NCAA DI teams which was won by host school Furman who shot scores of 293-289-284 (866). 

The Falcons were led by freshman, Angelica Holman, who finished in a tie for 31st place with scores of 77-75-72 (224).  Analiese Raath also a freshman, finished in a tie for 39th with scores of 76-73-77 (226).  Other finishers for the Falcons included sophomore Madison Tenore who finished in a tie for 46th with scores of 78-76-73 (227), freshman Rachel Carlson who finished in a tie for 51st with scores of 79-73-76 (228) and sophomore Alexis Rieli who finished in a tie for 68th with scores of 79-78-74 (231).   

Falcon head coach Laura Brown was satisfied with the team’s overall performance.  “This was one of the toughest fields we will see all year and I felt that my players held their own especially in their first event of the year.  I am proud of the way my players handled themselves and they definitely showed that they deserved to compete in this high-level event.  This was a tough course especially on the greens and they all worked very hard this weekend and competed well.

The Lady Falcons return to competition October 15-17, as they are set to compete in the 45th Annual Pat Bradley Invitational hosted by FIU University in Lakewood Ranch, FL.
