NJCAA: Coach Brown: Advancing the Lives of Women Through Sports

Charlotte, NC – For the 36th annual National Girls and Women in Sports Day, the NJCAA looks to highlight individuals who have advanced the lives of girls and women through sports and who have also contributed to the growth and success of women athletics.

Laura Brown became the head women's golf coach at Daytona State College in 1997, establishing the first women's golf program for the school. Over 23 years, Coach Brown has created a highly respected program that has continued success both on the course and in the classroom.  Her accomplishments include 10 NJCAA National Championships, seven NJCAA Individual National Championship titles, 90 All-Americans, eight-time FCSAA (Florida College System Activities Association) Female Academic Team of the Year, and four-time NJCAA Female All-Academic Team of the Year.
