Falcons Take Down Titans in Home Finale

DAYTONA BEACH, FL – Falcons close out the final home game of the season on Sophomore night with a victory over St. Petersburg College 71-65. Daytona State Women's Basketball honored Sophomores Tasia Johnson, Bella Weary, Taylor Stehmeier, Kendal Moxey, Nyasia James, and Student-Manager Maelie Koume on their time as Falcons.

Leading the way for the Falcons Saturday Afternoon were Sophomore Guard Tasia Johnson 19 points, 7-for-11 from field goals, 4-for-6 from three point, 3 rebounds, 4 steals, and 1 assist. Also with 19 points and career high was Sophomore Center Alicia Spann shooting 7-for-10 from field goal, 5-for-8 free throws, 6 rebounds, and 1 steal.

Sophomore Center Kendal Moxey chipped in with her 10th double-double of the year with 11 points and 10 rebounds.

"It has been a great season playing in front of our home crowd there is nothing like finishing a year off in front of your fans with a win, we have a quick turnaround to prepare for our final game but I am proud of our team and especially the play of our sophomores." Head Coach Tron Griffin stated.

The Falcons are wrap up the regular season in Fort Myers, FL on Monday March 4th at 5:00 p.m. versus Florida Southwestern State College.
