Falcons drop in battle versus. #24 Indian River

Daytona Beach, FL – Sophomore Guard Nashani Gilbert scored a team-high 22 points, nine rebounds, two assists, and three steals as the Indian River defeated Daytona State 66-53 Saturday afternoon.

The Falcons led by one point at the end of the first quarter of play and hit a shooting slump in the second quarter shooting 1-for-16 to dig an eleven-point deficit at the half. A strong second-half push by the Falcons was not enough to overcome the lead of Indian River.

Coach Griffin stated. "We felt good about the game plan for today's game, another game where we are very proud of the effort. We must be able to knock down shots to pair with our pressure defense to get these wins versus good teams. We will look at our areas for improvement and prepare for FSW tomorrow."

Freshman Guard Tasia Johnson added 12 points, two assists, and two stills, while Freshman Rylan Moffitt recorded 11 rebounds.
