Poor shooting dooms Falcons in second half vs. #4 Chipola College

Daytona Beach, FL – Freshman Forward Hailee Brennen scored a team-high 14 points, five rebounds, three assists, and one block on 6-for-10 shooting and 2-for-3 from the three as the Chipola defeated Daytona State 69-50 Saturday afternoon.

The Falcons led by as many as three points in the second quarter and were down four points at the half, but hot shooting by Chipola kept them through to the finish.

"Our players showed toughness and resilience through the drought shooting in the third as we made a push during the fourth, giving up nine threes hurts when shots aren't falling for your team. I felt like we were really prepared and did a solid job defensively on the nation's leading scorer. We had to put a complete 40 minutes together. Back to preparation as we get ready for the next one." Coach Griffin stated.

Sophomore Nashani Gilbert added 11 points, while Freshman Rylan Moffitt recorded her second double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds.

Daytona State will return to the Lemerand Athletic Center on Monday, November 28th vs. Warner University JV team at 5:30 p.m.
