Falcons Open Season in Defensive Effort over Johnson

Daytona Beach, FL. – Daytona State (1-0) saw nine Falcons add to the stat sheet, including a game-high 17 points from Freshman Tasia Johnson in Tuesday's victory vs. Johnson University 80-21.  The Falcons guard was 7-for-11 from the floor, 3-for-5 from 3pt, and five rebounds.

The Falcons turned up the defensive pressure in the second quarter and went on a 23-0. Daytona State scored 23 points for the game off of the Suns' 27 turnovers. Freshman Guard Nyasia James scored 10 points on 5-for-14 shooting with one assist and one steal. Sophomore Guards Kacie Oelkers, and Danea Mackey, along with Freshman Symiah Bradley, and Hailee Brennen chipped in with 9 points.

The Falcons return to "The Nest" Saturday to take on Miami-Dade College on November 5th at 2:00 p.m.
