Falcons Take Flight, upset #15 South Georgia Tech to close out Thanksgiving Classic

Americus, GA. – Kimeira Burks led the way with 20 points shooting 57% field, four rebounds, three assists, and two steals as Daytona State upset #15 South Georgia Technical College 69-58 Saturday afternoon at the SGTC Thanksgiving Classic.

The Falcons (5-2) with a strong first-half start 37-21 and held the Jets to 4 points in the second quarter. Defensive efforts late halted the Jets' run forcing 19 turnovers as the Falcons also shot a season-best 45% from the field as a team.

Sophomore Shayla Bouie chipped in 14 points, 8-for-12 from the free-throw line while Sophomore Tanyia Gordon added 10 points, six rebounds, five steals, and four assists.

The Falcons are back on the road in action Friday, December 3rd at #14 Florida Southwestern State College at 5:30 p.m.
