Falcons Fall to Indian River

Fort Pierce, FL. -- The Daytona State Falcons nearly pulled off a second-half comeback, but Indian River held on down the stretch for a 76-70-win Tuesday afternoon.

Freshman Kierra Wheeler registered a season-high of 32 points Tuesday. The Falcons freshman was 12-for-20 shooting from the field, grabbed 9 rebounds, and added 2 assists.  It was her third double-digit performance of the season.

Sophomore Kimeira Burks scored 14 points and hit twice from the arc. Sophomore Shayla Bouie added 12 points and 4 steals.

A hot first-quarter start by Indian River slowed the Falcons down. The Falcons cut into an 11-point lead to end the first half and outscored the Pioneers in the second half. Down to wire the Falcons cut the lead within four points and were outlasted at the free-throw line.

The Falcons are back in action at home, Monday, November 15th at 5:30 p.m. vs. Miami Dade College.
