Miami, FL. – Sophomore Guard Shayla Bouie led the way with 13 points, 7-for-8 from the charity stripe, three rebounds, and three steals as Daytona State take the 49-47 win over Miami-Dade College Saturday afternoon.
The Falcons (6-3) after a tie game at the half, pressure defense sparked the energy for the Falcons with a 12-point lead through three quarters. With the score 47-47 with 1:00 left in the contest, defensive efforts forced a Sharks a turnover leading to a Bouie basket.
Sophomore Tanyia Gordon chipped in 10 points and four steals while Freshman Kierra Wheeler finished with 8 rebounds.
The Falcons return home Friday, December 10th to host Palm Beach State College at 5:00 p.m.
