#16 Eastern Florida downs Falcons at home

Daytona Beach, FL. -- The Daytona State Falcons played well through the first 20 minutes of play vs. Eastern Florida State College down only 3 points at the break, but third-quarter scoring drought doomed the Falcons down the stretch in the 70-58 loss to the Titans Saturday afternoon.

Sophomore Blessing Okoh led all scorers with 11 points, shooting 5-for-11 from the field, five rebounds, and two steals. Freshman Center Kierra Wheeler added 9 points and nine rebounds, while Sophomore Guard Tanyia Gordon both registered 9 points Saturday.

Head Coach, Tron Griffin stated. "Another game where I felt like our ladies, played their hardest and gave maximum effort for 40 minutes. Defensively, we did some things well keeping those we wanted below their averages but giving up too many points to others. It comes down to making shots and we didn't hit our shooting goals to secure a win versus a good, ranked team. Quick turnaround and back at home one last time on Monday."

The Falcons are home on Monday for the final home contest of the year at 5:30 p.m. versus Santa Fe College.
