Poor shooting dooms Falcons in loss to Santa Fe

Daytona Beach, FL -- Sophomore Shayla Bouie scored a team-high 17 points, four rebounds, two assists, and three steals as the Santa Fe Saints defeated Daytona State 67-57 Wednesday afternoon.

The Falcons (11-6) cut the Saints led to three points in the third quarter, but hot shooting by Santa Fe kept the Saints with a lead through the finish.

"The stats sheets for our last two games versus Santa Fe are very similar. Rebounds, turnovers, made field goals and points off of turnovers. The difference was Santa Fe came in tonight and outright wanted this win! We have to be able to knock down shots at home, and we have to bounce back on this road trip this weekend" Griffin said.

Sophomore Kimeira Burks added 13 points, while Sophomore Tanyia Gordon chipped in with 12 points and Freshman Center Kierra Wheeler career-high 15 rebounds.

Daytona State will start a two-game road swing at St. Petersburg College Friday, February 11th at 5:30 p.m. and Saturday, February 12th at 2:00 p.m.
