Falcons Sweep FSCJ in Jacksonville

Falcons Sweep FSCJ in Jacksonville

Daytona State College faced off against FSCJ in a close game, securing a 2-0 victory.

The game started with a quick first inning, keeping the scoreboard blank. Daytona State College put up a run in the second when Aurielle Reavis drove in a run with a crucial hit. Reavis had a day, going 2-4 at the plate.

The game remained tight, with both teams' pitchers and defenses preventing further scoring until the seventh inning. In the final inning, the Falcons scored another run thanks to Lorelai "Butter" Ellerby's timely hit, which brought her total to two hits and one RBI for the game.

FSCJ struggled offensively, managing only one hit throughout the game, largely due to the stellar pitching performance by Ava Unser. The Falcons' dominant performance on the mound was a key factor in keeping FSCJ off the scoreboard.

Daytona State College finished the game with seven hits and no errors, while FSCJ, despite their defensive efforts, couldn't find their rhythm.

The Falcons secured their second win on the afternoon in Jacksonville, with a 17-3 victory in just five innings to sweep the series. Daytona State's bats were on fire, racking up 19 hits and capitalizing on FSCJ's defensive errors. The game was decided in the third inning when the Falcons scored 12 runs.

FSCJ managed to score 3 runs, but it wasn't enough to overcome pitcher Kaylee Martineau, who earned her third win of the season. Alexis Miranda and Bailee Riggins each pitched an inning to help close out the game for the Falcons.

Nearly every player in the lineup contributed to the offensive streak. Morgan Davis and Maddie Burdick each blasted a home run, driving in their teammates. Davis had a big day at the plate with 4 hits and 4 RBIs, while Veronica Puckett and Azlynn Gomes each added 3 RBIs. Aurielle Reavis, Kaili Cannon, Gabby Giugliano, and Olivia McCroan each contributed as well. Doubles from Veronica Puckett, Kennedy Carr, Morgan Davis, and Gabby Giugliano highlighted the Falcons' powerful performance.
