Falcons Ready For Region 8

The Daytona State men's cross country team will take on teams from across Region 8 this Friday in Tallahassee at Apalachee Regional Park. The men's program made history last year by winning the 2023 Championship with perfect score of 15. This occurs when one team places all five scorers in the top five of the race. Jared Falchook took the individual title and five Falcons followed closely behind. The Falcons return the second and third place runners in Evan Casterline and Joel Jean. Jean ended the 2023 season as an NJCAA All American by placing 12th at the NJCAA Division II Cross Country Championships in Huntsville, Alabama.
As a team, the Falcons have won five titles in the last six years and this year's squad is primed and ready to compete for the win. Along with Casterline and Jean, the Falcons will compete with returners Isaac Morrison, Pedro Zapata, Zeniel Lizardo, and Josue Brito and will be joined by freshmen Nick Pugh, Hayden Herndon, Nathan Henning, Spencer Lawrence, Nikolas Boone, and Chris Murdock. Wilson reflected on the success of the program thus far. "We have been fortunate to get quality people to join our program and they just happen to be good runners. These guys have trained hard all summer and fall and are a really good group to coach, commented Judy Wilson.
