The men's cross country team heads to Huntsville, Alabama for the Southern Showcase hosted by Jacksonville State on September 15th.  Over 40 teams from around the Southeast, including NCAA Division I teams Alabama and Auburn, will toe the line for the 8,000 meter race.  The Falcons are lead by freshman Evan Casterline, coming off his 5th place at the FAU Invitational against NCAA Div I competition.  He will be joined by sophomore Jared Falchook, 26th at last year's NJCAA Championships, a tight pack of Falcon runners to help boost the team to a top team finish.  "We have a few other Region 8 teams in this race, so it will be good to see where we stand there and also get a great look at this course before the National Championships are held here in November," Coach Judy Wilson commented.  This is by far the fastest and tightest pack of runners Daytona State has ever had in men's cross country.  "We are just taking it one meet at a time, and the freshmen have to learn the 8k distance as well. " Wilson commented.
