Mitchell Curtis traveled to Kingston, Jamaica to compete at the 2022 CARIFTA Games at the National Stadium, April 16-18, 2022.  After running a personal record 4:01 in the 1500 meters and placing fourth on Saturday, Curtis came back strong two days later in the 5000 meters.  He battled with  Nicholas Power from Jamaica in a deadly sprint to the finish.  Curtis closed in a 63 last 400 meters to ensure the victory by less than 1.5 seconds.  Curtis will be competing for Daytona State as a sophomore on the men's cross country team this fall.
