Men's Soccer Ties at Home in Top 20 Match Up

The Daytona State College men's soccer team hosted the Monroe Mustangs at home tonight in a top 20 match up.

The Falcons started the game fast, taking the lead in the 6th minute of the contest, when Josue Youta put a ball across the goal that freshman forward Kayoum M'bamba tapped into the back of the net. two minutes later, the Falcon's would strike again when Ian Garzone floated a ball over the back line to find Giovanni Gonzetti 1v1 with the keeper to double that Falcon's lead. The Mustangs would find a goal of their own before going into halftime.

In an eventful second half with keepers making saves at both ends of the field, the Mustangs would break the Falcons down and get the equalizer in the 84th minute of the game.

The Falcons record now 5-2-4, with two games remaining in the regular season. Next up for Daytona State College men's soccer team is home game Atlantis University at 4pm. Daytona State faculty, staff, and students have free admission to the game, and anyone who brings hurricane relief donations will receive free admission.
