#8 Falcons Earn First Win of the Regular Season

Friday afternoon, the #8 Ranked Daytona State Falcons Men's Soccer Team played their second game of the regular season versus USC – Lancaster. Coming into the contest having tied their first game of the year, the Falcons came out on top with a 3-0 win.

Out shooting their opponents 9-1 in the first half, the deadlock was broken when sophomore midfielder, Thanachit Yingcherdsuk from Thailand, hit a first-time volley from the 18-yard box to find the back of the net.

While holding off the Lancers to zero shots in the second half, the Falcons found the back of the net two more times. A ball in behind from freshmen center back, Branton Saunders, found Hector Moreno 1v1 with the keeper to make the game 2-0. The final goal of the game came from a Falcon's corner kick. The Lancers' goalkeeper made a good first save but was unable to keep Christ Ngongar from finishing the second chance to end the scoring with six minutes left in the game.

The #8 Falcons will be in Miami, Florida on Friday, September 8th for their next game versus Millennea University.
