Men's Soccer Moves Up In Ranking and Diaz Named Goalkeeper of the Week

After the Daytona State Falcons Men's Soccer (1-0) opening game of the season, the Falcons have moved up two spots in the NJCAA Men's Soccer Division I Rankings. Now ranked #5 in the country, the men's soccer team will have their home opener this Friday, September 2nd versus USC-Lancaster at 7:30 pm.

Sophomore captain, Will Diaz, played an influential role in the Falcon's move in the ranking this week. He racked up 9 saves on the day, with 6 of the saves coming in the second half of the match to see Daytona State take home the win. His performance in the net for the Falcons earned him the NJCAA Men's Soccer Goalkeeper of the Week. "Will earning Goalkeeper of the Week is a direct result of what happens when someone puts in the time and effort to be the best version of themselves. Seeing his work ethic be rewarded in this fashion makes us proud," Coach Jonathan.
