The Daytona State Falcons ended the regular season last Saturday with a 5-1 win over visiting Patrick Henry College. The win pushes the Falcons to 7-0-1 for an undefeated regular season. They are ranked 6th in the NJCAA polls.

This marks the first time since the program's inception in 2016 that the Falcons have gone undefeated in the regular season. Assistant Coach, Joe Avalon, says of the Falcons, "Coach Bart has assembled tremendous talent. I've been around many teams in my years and this group has the opportunity to write a special chapter for Daytona State college athletes and themselves. I witness with each practice how coach Bart is fostering a winning mentality. If this group continues to do all the little things it takes for a championship run, which includes understanding each role asked of them and to support the notion of winning for each other, then they have a chance for a special moment in their sporting careers. These moments are rare. From day number one I sensed a tremendous team spirit. The best players don't win a championship but rather the best team".

The Falcons have been playing incredibly strong, leading goals 21-2 against their last three opponents.

The Falcons are led in points by:

Goals:

Kevin Kelly 8 goals, 2 assists (tied 17th nationally in goals)

Pablo Leigh 4 goals, 4 assists

Assists:

Santiago Fonseca 8 assists, 4 goals (tied 5th nationally in assists)

Yutaro Tsukada 5 assists, 3 goals

The Falcon's defense ranks 6th in the nation with 6 shutouts and has only given up 2 goals on the season. The program has a well-balanced attack, that is complemented by excellent defending, and a midfield that has dominated in possession all year.

The sixth-ranked men's soccer team will play in South Carolina on May 22nd for the Southeast District Championship, opponent TBD.
