Daytona State College Men's basketball team, ranked #22 in the NJCAA, kicked off the new season with a 103-76 win over a tough Florida Gateway College the reigning Region 8 Division 2 Champions. Every Falcon player scored and five finished in double figures. They had 28 assists on 42 made field goals.
Josue Grullon led the way with 23 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Victor Panov finished with 18 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists on 8 of 8 shooting from the field. Kylin Green 11 points, 7 assists, 5 steals and 3 rebounds. Huascar Cuevas 12 points, 6 assists, 6 rebounds and 3 steals. Dylan Diaz 12 points.

Daytona State Falcons (2-0) and ranked 22nd in the NJCAA built an early lead behind 22 first half points by Josue Grullon and cruised to their second win of the year over SW Tennessee 108-85. SW Tennessee is ranked 5th in the Region 7 TCCAA Preseason Poll. The Falcons' all around team effort forced 18 turnovers including 13 steals, 18 offensive rebounds, 24 assists on 38 made field goals and every player scored. Breylin Garcia and Kylin Green both finished with double-doubles.
Kylin Green led the effort with 16 points (6-9 FGM), 10 rebounds and 5 assists. Josue Grullon finished with 28 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Breylin Garcia 13 points and 10 rebounds. Dylan Diaz 13 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals in 12 minutes. Huascar Cuevas 7 points, 4 steals and 6 assists with 0 turnovers.
