Daytona State Men’s Basketball Spend Time Mentoring and Serving the Boys and Girls Club

LPGA International - Daytona Beach, FL – ALL GAS NO BREAKS is the motto of the Daytona State Men's Basketball team. Saturday the players and coaches spent the morning motivating runners with their motto. Supporting the Boys and Girls Club 5k, the men's basketball team gave out water, spent time with the children, and awarded metals.

Kamron Cunningham, freshman guard from Greenville, SC spoke about the opportunity - "Growing up the boys and girls club gave me an opportunity to stay out of trouble. I use to look up to the athletes who would volunteer their time. Now I have the chance to give back and be a mentor. This is special to me."

Head Coach Brock Morris on community service, "Anytime we can use our platform to better our community, create value in others' lives, or lend a helping hand we will. We try to show our players the value of serving others. Today I think our players and I know myself were blessed by being a part of this wonderful event. The energy, effort, and enthusiasm of these children and these workers gave us great motivation going into Monday's first practice of the season." Morris continued, "the children who take part in the Boys and Girls Club are fortunate to have such wonderful leaders. This was a well-run event, and a lot of fun. We really enjoyed our time this Saturday and want to form a strong partnership with our community. We are Daytona Beach's team, we wear the name across our uniform every night."
