Daytona State College Athletics Announces Brian Colubiale as Head Coach of Inaugural Women's Flag Football Program

Daytona Beach, FL – August 28, 2023 – Daytona State College Athletics has announced the appointment of Brian Colubiale as the Head Coach of the inaugural Women's Flag Football Program. With an impressive coaching background, Brian brings a wealth of experience and enthusiasm to this exciting new chapter in Daytona State College's athletics program.

“We are happy to welcome Brian to our Falcon coaching family and look forward to him getting to work recruiting our first Flag Football team for the 2024/25 academic year,” said Will Dunne, DSC athletic director. Brian has been uniquely involved in our local sports community now for a number of years, and his relevant local experience in football, including flag football will give him a unique perspective as he builds the Falcons Flag Football program.

Brian Colubiale, a seasoned coach with a passion for the game, has a remarkable coaching history. From 2011 to 2014, he served as the Tackle Football Running Back Coach, Offensive Coordinator, and Defensive Coordinator at Calvary Christian High. His dedication and strategic approach contributed significantly to the success of the program during his tenure.

In the years that followed, Brian made an impact at Daytona Beach Mainland High School from 2019 to 2021, holding various coaching positions including JV Offensive Coordinator, Varsity WR’s Coach, Varsity QB Coach, and Varsity Special Teams Coordinator. His commitment to developing young talent and his keen understanding of the game were instrumental in the team's progress.

Furthermore, Brian's dedication to the sport extended to the burgeoning world of Women's Flag Football. From 2019 to 2023, he was the Daytona Beach Mainland High School Girls Flag Football WR’s Coach and Offensive Coordinator. Under his guidance, the Mainland High School Girls Flag Team achieved remarkable success, securing a regional championship, and making their first-ever appearance at Florida’s 1A State Championships in 2023, boasting two All-State players on the roster.

Brian Colubiale, the newly appointed Head Coach of the Daytona State College Women's Flag Football Program, expressed his excitement, saying, "I am extremely excited about the opportunity Daytona State College has given me to start up this program. Girls Flag Football has grown so much over the last few years, and it’s only just getting started. There is so much talent in these young ladies locally and throughout the nation. I can’t wait to get out there and put this team together."
