Bio

 

Cameron Jergens enters his seventh year working in the Daytona State Athletic Department as an assistant coach for the Falcon Baseball program. Jergens, 33, serves as the pitching coach, camp coordinator, and recruiting coordinator. Jergens oversees the strength and conditioning program for the Falcon pitchers. He also is an instructor for the School of Student Life Skills at DSC.

During his time at Daytona State, the Falcon program has set program records for cumulative Team GPA (yearly-3.81 semester-3.88). The program has also received the FCSAA Academic Team of Year Award and NJCAA Academic Team of Year Award in each year.

Jergens also presented for the American Baseball Coaches Association Barnstormer Clinic in the Fall of 2019.

Prior to Daytona State College, Jergens spent two years on the coaching staff (2015 to 2017) at Coker University, a NCAA Division II program in South Carolina. He served as the Cobra’s hitting coach, worked with infielders and was the third base coach. In both years the Cobra program reached the South Atlantic Conference Tournament, a program first. In 2016, the Cobra offense finished the year ranked nationally with a .319 batting average.  

In the summer of 2017, Jergens served as an assistant coach for the Wilmar Stingers in the Northwoods League. He worked daily with the infielders and hitters.  

Jergens also spent two summers (2015, 2016) as head coach of the St. Charles Captains in the Lewis & Clark Collegiate Baseball League in St. Louis, MO. In his two summers with the Captains, Jergens coached 10 Lewis & Clark All-Star selections and one league MVP. In his second summer, the Captains became the first wild card team to win the Lewis & Clark League Championship.

Following graduation from North Carolina A&T, Jergens began his coaching career at Daytona State College in 2014. He served as a volunteer assistant, worked with outfielders and coached first base.

Jergens is a graduate of North Carolina AT State University where he earned All Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference honors as a pitcher and infielder for the Aggies. He also was a MEAC All-Academic Selection while earning a Bachelors of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies in 2014. He then earned a Master of Science in College Athletic Administration from Coker University in 2017.

Prior to transferring to NCAT, Jergens graduated with an Associate of Arts from Daytona State College. He was also a NJCAA Academic All-American Selection in 2012.

Jergens, the Centreville, MI native, graduated from Centreville High School in 2009.
