Five Falcons Earn MFC Postseason Honors

On Monday the Mid-Florida Conference voted on postseason awards following a 24 game conference season. There are four first team selections and four second team selections for each position group (outfield, infield, catcher, and pitcher). There is also a 1st team and 2nd team designated hitter.

There were five Falcons dubbed an all-conference performer during the 2023 season.

 

Adam Parzych was named a 1st team All-Conference outfielder finishing the season with a .401 batting average in 42 games played. The freshman from Tallahassee posted a .414 batting average in conference play collecting 36 hits in 24 games. Hitting in the lead off spot of the batting order, Parzych reached base by a hit or a walk in 40 of the 42 games in which he played. He reached safely in 19 of the last 20 games of the season. 

     

 

 

Austin Harford was named a 1st team All-Conference pitcher finishing the season with a record of 7 wins and two losses and one save. The right-handed freshman made a team high 28 appearances and threw 66.2 innings which also led the Falcon pitching staff. The Sarasota native appeared in all but eight Mid-Florida Conference games while posting a record of four wins and two losses. Harford's best outing was a seven inning start where he allowed three runs on four hits against Santa Fe on April 22nd. 

 

 

 

 

Nate Cannizzaro was named a 2nd team All-Conference infielder finishing the season with a .351 batting average hitting 12 doubles and driving in 22 runs. The red-shirt freshman shortstop spent a majority of the year hitting third in the Falcon lineup while hitting his only home run of the year against St. Johns River. The St. Petersburg native had two different nine game hitting streaks over the course of 36 games played. 

 

 

 

 

Noah Palmese was named a 2nd team All-Conference pitcher finishing the season with four wins and five losses over 11 starts. The sophomore threw 53 innings while striking out 63 batters. The Erskine College commit had his best outing against CCBC Catonsville going five innings allowing four hits and striking out 10 hitters. 

 

 

 

 

Scott Edwards was named a 2nd team All-Conference outfielder finishing the season with a .337 batting average in 35 games played. The Fort Myers native had eight doubles, one triple, and one home run while driving in 12 runs. He also feature a 22:25 BB/K ration over 104 at bats. Edwards started the year with 16 hits in his first 35 at bats and finished the year getting a hit in eight of the last nine games of the season.
